Coming To The Philippines

Coming To The Philippines

Greg Chichakly - August 30, 2015

This is my true real life experience coming to the Philippines for the first time. It has been a grueling eye opening experience.

I first came to the Philippines in 2007. I came here to marry a Filipina that I've been writing to at first, then video chatting and phone calls with her for 2 1/2 years. She was a school teacher and a Psalmist in the Catholic Church. I thought I could trust her and her professed love was true. I'll admit that I fell in love with this woman after communicating with each other for 2 1/2 years.

I had been divorced in my country. I wanted to start fresh and be happy with someone that truly loved me. I just wanted love and to be happy.

She didn't want to live in my country. She wanted us to live in the Philippines. So, I agreed to come and live in the Philippines. I gave up everything I had in my country to come to the Philippines to marry her and start a new life in the Philippines with her.

About 6 months before I came to the Philippines, I sent her money to build a store for us and to buy inventory so we'd have a business there when I arrived. I sent her money to put in bank accounts for us there so we'd have money there when I arrived. I sent her money for her family's graduations, birthdays, and needs. I sent her money for the Blessing Celebration for our store. Anyway, you get the idea.

When I arrived in the Philippines I wanted her to meet me at the airport. So, I sent her money for boat fare and meals for her and the 7 people she wanted to bring with her.

The moment that I walked out of the airport in the Philippines my gut was telling me something is amiss. They greeted me and took me to a mall to eat. The entire time we were there eating, she kept texting and calling people to come there, and of course they all wanted to eat also. There had to be no less then 20 people with us, no exaggeration.

I paid for a nice hotel for us to stay in that night. Then we would take the boat back to her place in the morning. It turned out that the money I had sent her for their round-trip boat fare she spent and only bought one-way boat fare for them. So, I again had to pay for their boat fare to return to her place.

When we arrived in her place she showed me our store. It looked very nice and full of inventory. As it turned out however, it was not our inventory I later found out. She borrowed the extra inventory from another store to make it appear that we had inventory in our store when I arrived. In actuality, we had no inventory - she spent the money for the inventory.

She showed me the business license and bank account papers that she forged showing both our names on them. But, in reality, it was only in her name on the real documents I found out later.

Within 7 days of being with her in the Philippines I found out she had lied to me about everything and scammed me out of all I had. She took everything from me - leaving me with nothing.

It was all a lie and a scam. She even had a Filipino boyfriend as well.

At that point, I had my round-trip ticket back to my country and I should've gone back. But, my pride wouldn't allow me to. I couldn't face all the people back home saying "I told you so" or "What were you thinking?". So, I stayed in the Philippines and tried to rebuild my life again.

A foreigner I had met suggested that I should join a "dating site", as he did, to meet someone new. So, I joined a sites called Cebuanas, Date in Asia, Filipina Heart, and a few others. Hoping to find a good woman to love and be happy with.

But, every one of the women that I had met on these sites were the same. Not one was any different. They all played games, cheated, lied, scamming, stealing, players, etc. Not a single one was true or with good heart. I had many many more horrible experiences with these women that I met on these dating sites. The true stories from these experiences that I could tell you would horrify you.

Bear in mind that before I came to the Philippines I researched the Philippines on the internet to learn as much as I could about the Philippines and what to expect when I came here. Every site I read, talked about the "paradise" and the "wonderful loving people" of the Philippines. Every site I read was complete total BS !!!! Not any of the sites told the truth about what the Philippines was really like. From what I researched, I was expecting "Fantasy Island" or such - instead I landed in hell coming here.

The Philippines has many problems, i.e rampant corruption, violent crime, robberies, failing infrastructure, extremely poor, scamming, etc. But, the biggest problem isn't these things. The biggest problem is the PEOPLE.

This is my real life true experience from the first time that I came to the Philippines, and it has not changed to this day.

The Phillipines has taken everyone and everything that I had in my life away from me.

BEWARE and BE ON GUARD if you come to the Philippines.
