Typical Of The Philippines - Expect It With Every Business

TRUE EXPERIENCE !!!!

Sun Broadband WiFi

October 8, 2015

In my time here I've used Smart and Globe for all my Internet connections, so this time I decided to give Sun a shot at driving me crazy.  I'm not happy to report it took them only two days.  Our Hot Spot refused to connect to the Internet and multiple calls to the Sun helpline did nothing to fix it.  Finally, their tech told my wife he would file a report and they would, "watch" our account for three days before they could decide what to do!  Well whoop Tee Do, what good is "watching" an account that can't connect to the Internet?  Wife calls them back, goes through the same routine they put her through every time she calls and after over 3 hours total call for help time they inform us there is nothing they can do so perhaps we should try going back to the Sun Store to see if they might be able to help us.

We arrived at the store and waited over two hours to be seen.  At one point they had two minions helping the 22 people standing in line while five, yes five minions stood around joking, playing grab ass and eating snacks.  Because I'm a Kano and long ago stopped to give a shit, I loudly commented that I found it ironic two were waiting on customers while five were doing nothing to earn their salary.  This got me a dirty look from the guy whom I guess is a supervisor, but he at least directed one of his lazy helpers to help the next person in line.  Only 21 ahead of me now.  Sadly, the poor boy only had enough spunk in him to assist one customer before getting back to his serious snaking and playing grab ass.  At long last our number came up and after much todo they decided our just purchased three days ago SIMM was bad and since we had not used it for seven days yet, they would replace it for free.  However, the 999p load I purchased when I purchased the defective SIMM would take 3 days to transfer to the new SIMM, so if I wanted to use the Internet, I'd have to buy a three day load!  Are these people nice or what?

Since we arrived home with the newly fixed hot spot our Internet speed has ranged between 0.10 and 0.13mbs.  This is not fast enough to load my Gmail account in less than 20 minutes!  After a day and a half of this I asked wife to contact Sun to report the slow speed.  She did as I asked, their response?  (You're going to love this!)  "Stop complaining and just be grateful we give you any Internet at all!!"  Yes, this quote is 100% correct.  People wonder why the Philippines has the worst Internet in Asia?  Look no further than the attitude of the companies providing the service and I use the term "Service" loosely.

Yet one more example of life in the Philippines.
